Ideal Logic System IE Gen 2 fault L0D

Ignition lockout: blocked flue/condensate

Gas boiler

What it means

Ignition lockout specifically related to a blocked flue or condensate system.

Likely causes

  1. Blocked flue
  2. Blocked condensate pipe/trap
  3. Flue components not correctly assembled, fixed or supported
  4. Flue or flue terminal obstructed
  5. Displaced seals on flue extensions allowing combustion products and inlet air to mix
  6. Seals on flue extensions displaced during installation
  7. External wall seal dislodged if Mark 1 is not flush with inner wall surface and can be seen prior to the wall surface

Where to start

  1. Set boiler to maximum gas rate and allow combustion to stabilise (do not insert analyser probe during this period to avoid flooding sensor)
  2. Insert analyser probe into air inlet test point (where available) and allow readings to stabilise - flue integrity check
  3. If no air inlet test point provided, flue integrity check with analyser is not possible; rely on visual check instead

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
