Ideal Logic System IE fault ON
Demand for heat present
Gas boilerWhat it means
Display shows ON when there is a demand for heat.
Likely causes
- Boiler mode knob not in ON position
- Timer and Room Thermostat or cylinder thermostat switched off
- Radiator valves closed
- No voltage from Timer/Room Stat (external wiring fault)
- Faulty wiring from terminal strip to PCB
- Cylinder stat not calling for heat / requires adjustment
- DHW timer switched off
- No 230V at terminal (A) due to system controls and wiring fault
- Flue or flue terminal obstructed
- Seals displaced during installation, e.g. those on flue extensions
- No 230Vac supply to boiler at L and N
- Wiring from terminal block to Main PCB not connected securely
- Faulty PCB
Where to start
- Check if boiler mode knob is in the ON position
- Check if the Timer and Room Thermostat or cylinder thermostat are switched on
- Check if the Radiator Valves are open

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
