Who We Are
TradeAssistIQ is an AI-powered diagnostic tool for heating and plumbing engineers, operated from Ireland. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and your rights under GDPR and Irish data protection law.
What Information We Collect
Your name (optional). If you choose to enter your first name when using the diagnostic tool, it is stored locally on your device using browser localStorage and is included in diagnostic query logs when you use the AI diagnostic tool. Diagnostic queries. When you submit a fault code or diagnostic question, the text of your query is sent to Anthropic (the AI provider) for processing. Queries may also include photos you choose to upload. We log anonymised diagnostic query data — including fault codes searched, equipment brands detected and whether a database match was found — to improve our service and diagnostic database. Your name if provided, query text and session identifier are stored securely in our database. Photos you upload are sent to Anthropic for analysis and are not stored by TradeAssistIQ. Technical data. Standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type and pages visited for security and performance monitoring. This data is not used for marketing and is not sold to third parties.
How We Use Your Information
Information you provide is used solely to provide the diagnostic service. Your name is used only to personalise your experience on your own device. Diagnostic queries are processed by our AI system to generate fault diagnosis responses. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling or any purpose other than providing the service.
Third Party Services
TradeAssistIQ uses the following third party services: Anthropic — provides the AI model that processes diagnostic queries. Anthropic processes query content in accordance with their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy. Supabase — provides our fault code database. Supabase processes database queries in accordance with their privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy. Vercel — hosts the TradeAssistIQ platform. Vercel processes web requests in accordance with their privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Data Retention
Your name, if entered, is stored only on your own device and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data or using the "Not [name]?" link in the app header. Diagnostic query logs including fault codes searched and brands detected are retained for up to 12 months to allow us to improve the service and provide usage analytics. These logs do not contain financial information or contact details. Standard web server logs are retained for a maximum of 90 days.
Your Rights Under GDPR
Under GDPR you have the right to access any personal data we hold about you, request correction or deletion of that data, object to processing of your data and lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission Ireland (dataprotection.ie). Cookies
TradeAssistIQ does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use browser localStorage to store your optional name preference on your device only. No third-party cookies are set by this platform. localStorage and sessionStorage are browser storage mechanisms used to remember your name preference and session identifier. These are distinct from cookies and do not track you across other websites or share any data with third parties.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of TradeAssistIQ after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
