Who We Are
TradeAssistIQ is a diagnostic and job sheet tool for heating and plumbing engineers, operated from Ireland. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who processes it for us and your rights under the GDPR and Irish and UK data protection law.
What Information We Collect
Your account. When you register we store your email address and the profile details you enter (such as your name, company name and registration details) in our database so you can sign in and so your job sheets are pre-filled. Diagnostic queries. The text of each question you ask, the brand, product and fault code we detect, whether an answer was found on file, your name and company if set, and a session identifier are logged in our database. We use these logs to run, secure and improve the service and the fault database. Job sheets. If you use job sheets, we store what you enter, which can include your customers' names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses, appliance details, work carried out and signatures. For this customer information you are the data controller and TradeAssistIQ processes it on your behalf, only to provide the job sheet service to you. Technical data. Our hosting provider records standard request logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and performance. We use your IP address to limit abuse of the service.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide the diagnostic and job sheet service, keep your account secure, prevent abuse and improve the accuracy of our diagnostic database. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
AI Processing
Most answers come from our own database of manufacturer information. When no answer is found on file, signed-in users may receive an AI-assisted answer: in that case the text of your question (and related reference records from our database) is sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to generate the answer. AI-assisted answers are always labelled as not verified against a manufacturer manual. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through its API is not used to train its models by default.
Third Party Services
Supabase stores our database, user accounts and job sheets in the EU (Ireland). supabase.com/privacy Vercel hosts the TradeAssistIQ website. vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy Anthropic provides the AI model used for AI-assisted answers and for processing manufacturer manuals. anthropic.com/privacy Google Analytics measures how the website is used, only if you accept analytics cookies. policies.google.com/privacy Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer is covered by safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies and Local Storage
Analytics cookies (optional). Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and similar) only after you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded. Essential storage. We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in, remember your cookie choice, keep your current diagnostic conversation and carry a diagnosis into a new job sheet. This is cleared when you log out (except your cookie choice). You can change or withdraw your analytics choice at any time:
Data Retention
Diagnostic query logs are kept for up to 12 months. Your account and job sheets are kept while your account is open; you can delete individual job sheets in the app, and you can ask us to delete your account and all associated data at any time. Hosting request logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for security purposes.
Your Rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive a copy of it, to object to or restrict its processing and to withdraw consent at any time. You can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie) or, in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of TradeAssistIQ after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
