Midea M-Thermal Arctic HT R290 Mono fault F75

Protection for insufficient discharge overheating degree

Heat pump

What it means

Protection triggered when the difference between discharge temperature (Tp) and condensing temperature (Tc) is less than 0°C and persists for 10 minutes, indicating insufficient discharge superheat.

Likely causes

  1. Excess refrigerant charged into the system
  2. Electronic expansion valve malfunctioning or not operating
  3. Excess refrigerant charged in the unit
  4. Electronic expansion valve malfunction (stuck or not operating)

Where to start

  1. Check 'Unit Status-Operation parameter-P1 comp. pressure & P2 comp. pressure' on the User Interface
  2. Compare the P1/P2 pressure readings with the reference values in 'Discharge / Suction pressure and temperature range' in Appendix 4
  3. If the parameter on the User Interface is higher than the Appendix 4 reference value, there is excess refrigerant charge

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
